Based in New Jersey, USA, they are the organisation responsible for calibrating colour in digital and physical formats. They are a big deal if you work in graphic design, fashion, paint, printing or product manufacturing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I won’t get into the technical side of RGB or HEX codes but if you ever want to know what a colour is, simply type the name of the colour and “Pantone” into your search engine and you can make sure you’re on the right track.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pantone are also helpful for Personal Colour Analysis- because we can calibrate colour, we can select it according to your hair, skin and eyes. Colours that have just the right mix to make you look good.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Thankfully, when I was speaking last week at Gold Coast Green Week, nobody came up and complimented me on my pants.

Sure, they fit me like a glove.

Sure, they are tailored to within an inch of their life.

But they are dead boring and since I have worn them 100 times, you’re not meant to be noticing the pants.

Their sole purpose is to be supportive and show off all my other fabulous show stoppers in my wardrobe, like this purple @cueclothingco jacket.

If you get stylishly savvy, you can effortlessly throw together stunning outfits without the stress and waste. It’s all about buying strategic, personalised items, as recommended by your stylist.

I recently did a workshop on how to be a 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝘃𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 in celebration of Gold Coast Green Week and the feedback was incredible.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rather than approaching sustainability by putting the squeeze on the supply chain [fashion industry/clothing manufacturers] and asking them to improve their act, my approach is almost spɹɐʍʞɔɐq...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I like to look at the demand side of the equation... as in ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

She likes to tell me that I have to fend for myself, that the world is a big scary place that I must singlehandedly dominate and that people are a threat, a burden or a distraction from my task. That I am better off relying on myself because others cannot be truly trusted and if I let them in, I will likely be hurt by them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nancy and I go way back. Back as far as I can remember. She comes from that time of uncertainty, chaos and fear. She preaches her words of warning “Don’t expect others to care for or respect you unless you get loud and powerful.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nancy feels really familiar. Her voice feels like second nature. She can be quite convincing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I had an awakening where I realised how much I was allowing her to control me. She meant well, she was just trying to keep me safe but in doing so, she tied me down and held me back in ways that felt restrictive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She only saw part of the truth. The part that served her agenda. She would turn up the volume on fear and doubt and gloss over the parts of my experience that are unconditional love, trust and mutual respect.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t mind Nancy anymore. I let her hang around. But I let her know that she is not the boss of me. She doesn’t get final say. I care about her perspective but ultimately, her voice is only really of value to me in seeing the places where I need to offer myself more love, attention and grace.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
